I’m feeling a little nostalgic as I finalize details for one of my upcoming weddings at Hope Island Beach Club. This venue is such a hidden gem, and I can’t help but reflect on one of my favorite past celebrations there, Elle & Tom’s wedding!

Elle & Tom’s day was had lasting impact: heartfelt, natural, and filled with small moments that made a big impact.
From the very beginning, they envisioned a celebration that felt like an extension of themselves: relaxed but refined, thoughtful and deeply personal. Set against the serene backdrop of Puget Sound, their wedding embraced the rugged beauty of the PNW with a touch of coastal elegance. It was ABSOLUTELY freezing for September on their wedding day!
A Ceremony Framed by Nature
The ceremony was held on a wooden deck overlooking the water, framed by string lights and florals tucked into woven baskets. The palette was soft and organic: creamy whites, gentle blues, and blush tones. I spent the morning dodging rain, but just as guests began to arrive, the skies started to clear.
We wanted the florals to strike that balance between understated and impactful—like we’d taken a stroll through a garden and gathered the best blooms. The arrangements were intentionally unstructured, filled with roses, lisianthus, snapdragons, and wispy greenery. Nothing competed with the landscape—it all worked in harmony.
Intentional Details at Every Turn
From the start, the couple prioritized personal, meaningful touches. A polaroid camera floated around all weekend, encouraging guests to capture authentic, unscripted moments. During cocktail hour, oyster shuckers served up fresh bites by the water—an homage to both the season and the region.
Dinner was served family-style, with an emphasis on vibrant, healthy flavors—no heavy steak-and-potato plates here. It was grilled vegetables, summer salads, and light seafood dishes that brought everyone to the table. The atmosphere felt like a garden dinner party: relaxed, elevated, and full of connection.
At each place setting, guests found a polaroid photo—each one tied to a specific memory with the bride or groom. It was one of the most thoughtful, personal details I’ve ever seen.
Knowing the weather would be unseasonably chilly, we prepped with baskets of blankets for guests to cozy up with.
One of my absolute favorite moments? THE wedding wine. Elle’s dad had been collecting wine each year since she was born, saving it for her wedding day. When that day finally arrived, we decanted 50 bottles of vintage wine—and let me tell you, the smell was unreal.
Dancing Into the Night
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration kept going strong. We repurposed the ceremony florals around the string light pillars to transform the dance floor into a glowing garden. And just when you thought it couldn’t get more fun—a saxophonist joined the party and took the energy to a whole new level.
Congratulations again, Elle & Tom. Your day was a masterclass in meaningful celebration—and I feel lucky to have been a part of it.
