Party’s Over! Here’s Your Post-Reception Game Plan

The music fades, the lights come up…now what?  Here’s what to know (and plan!) for when the party winds down:

Make sure you let you DJ know your last song request!

Let us know if you would like an intimate moment to let the whole day soak in and close the night with a private dance just the two of you. If you plan on doing a grand exit, we will get that all organized while you doing this.

Are we doing one?

Should we do one?  I personally like a grand exit because it gets everyone out of the event space and makes for an easier clean up and quicker departure. If you don’t do a grand exit, the lights turn on, and the goodbyes take FOREVER! So if you want out of the space quickly, do a grand exit. Another plus is a cute photo moment but keep in mind that most Photographers will have left by this time.  Make sure to let the DJ and myself know if you decide to do a grand exit because we will be the ones facilitating guest to depart and line up outside.

What are our grand exit options?!

Sparkler exits– Need to ask venue if allowed. If you do a sparkler exit, buy the BIG sparklers! This gives us longer time to make sure everyone’s sparkler is lit. We will also need a water bucket to extinguish afterwards.

Bubbles- If you go this route, buy at least 1 bubble gun to make an impact and then you can buy individual ones for everyone.

Glow Wands / Fiber Optic  Wands – Bonus we can use these earlier in the night on the dance floor!

Confetti Poppers–  I’ve never met a venue that allows confetti BUT these hand streamers are usually allowed and easy enough clean up.

Just me at the end of the night sweeping!

This one’s big! Vendors, rentals, florals, and leftover cake don’t magically disappear. We suggest that you have our services start where we can cover that hour after your event to help with this process. Throughout the event we are consolidating and tidying to help expedite this going home process for you. Let us know if you’d like us to start the breakdown a little early while guest are dancing we can already start packing up items during that last hour of event time.

Who’s taking home décor, alcohol, any left over food (if allowed)?

Does your venue require everything out that night?

Is a family member or friend responsible for personal items?

We’ll build all of this into your timeline and make sure it runs smoothly, but it’s good to start thinking ahead because the end of the night deserves just as much attention as the beginning.

With love and logistics,

Philadelphia
